PDF to JPG — Convert Pages to Images Free
Convert every page of a PDF into a sharp PNG or JPG image and download them all as a ZIP.
Turn each page of a PDF into its own image file. Choose PNG for the sharpest result or JPG for smaller files — handy for sharing on social media or dropping into a presentation.
How to convert PDF to images (3 steps)
- Open your PDF.
- Choose the image format: PNG or JPG.
- Convert and get every page in a ZIP file.
PNG or JPG?
It depends on what's on the page:
- Text, tables, and line charts → PNG — letter edges stay crisp with no blur around the text.
- Mostly photos → JPG — files are several times smaller than PNG with almost no visible difference.
- Posting to social media → JPG — platforms recompress images anyway.
- Inserting into slides or documents → PNG — text from a JPG can look soft when projected on a large screen.
- Receipts and small figures → PNG — small numbers in a JPG can get jagged and be misread.
If you're unsure, pick PNG and compress the image later. Starting with JPG and trying to get the sharpness back doesn't work.
What resolution you get
Each page is rendered at twice its actual size, so an A4 page comes out at about 1,200 × 1,700 pixels — roughly equivalent to a 150 dpi scan. That means:
- Social posts and sharing in chats — more than enough; a typical phone screen is 1,080 pixels wide.
- Presentation slides — works well and stays sharp even on a Full HD screen.
- Reprinting at A4 — acceptable and readable, but for high-quality printing, print from the original PDF.
- Enlarging to poster size — not recommended; the resolution isn't enough.
Common uses
- Sending documents to people who struggle with PDFs — an image opens instantly in a chat app.
- Posting notices, flyers, or price lists on platforms that only accept images.
If you only need some pages
This tool converts every page. If you need just page 3 of a 40-page document, either extract that page first with Split PDF and then convert it (you get a single image, no ZIP), or convert everything and pick from the ZIP, where files are named page-1, page-2, and so on. For the whole document as one long scrolling image, use PDF to Long Image instead.
Why converting in the browser is safer
Files converted to images are often quotes, contracts, or payslips. Typical converter sites upload your file, render it on their server, and store the images there. MyPDF renders every page in your own browser, so neither the file nor the images leave your device — you can even go offline after the page loads.
FAQ
Is the resolution good enough for social media?
Easily. Pages are rendered at a higher resolution than typical screens.
Can I convert just one page?
Extract that page with the split tool first, then convert it to an image.
Should I choose PNG or JPG?
PNG suits text documents (crisp edges). JPG suits pages with photos (smaller files).
How many pixels are the images?
About twice the actual page size. An A4 page comes out around 1,200 × 1,700 pixels, equivalent to a 150 dpi scan — enough for social media, slides, and normal-size printing.
How are the files named?
A single-page PDF gives you one image file directly. A multi-page PDF gives you a ZIP with files named by page number, such as page-1.png and page-2.png.
Can I convert a password-protected PDF?
Yes. You'll be asked for the password and the file is opened on your device. Only use this on files you own or are authorized to use.
Why did a transparent background turn white?
A white background is added to every page so images look like paper in apps or chats that would otherwise show transparency as black.
