What can and can't be removed
Watermarks in a PDF come in two kinds. The first is added on top later as a separate object, and can be removed. The second is part of the image itself, and can't.
- Removable — semi-transparent text or stamps, watermark layers created by PDF software, and full-page overlay images.
- Not removable — watermarks in photos or scanned files, because the watermark has become the same pixels as the content. If your file is like this, the tool will tell you.
Which mode to choose
- Standard — removes only what the tool has identified as a watermark. Always start here.
- Intensive — removes everything that is semi-transparent. Use it when standard mode doesn't get everything, but be aware it may also remove things that are meant to be transparent, such as highlighter marks or faint images in the document.
Some full-page overlay images are removed because they look like a watermark. When that happens, you'll see a warning to check the result before using it.
Use it responsibly
Use this tool on documents you own or have permission to modify — for example, removing the word "DRAFT" from your own company's document. Don't use it to remove copyright watermarks, or watermarks that state the document may only be used for a specific purpose.

This usually happens in intensive mode. Try again with standard mode — your original file is still intact on your device.
Can a large SAMPLE or DRAFT watermark across the page be removed?
If it is text or an image added on top later, it usually can. If the file is a scan, the watermark is part of the image and can't be removed.
Can I process several files at once?
For now it works one file at a time. When you finish, use the option to run the tool on a new file to start the next one straight away.
