How to remove blank pages (3 steps)

- Choose the detection sensitivity: normal or strict.
- Remove the blank pages; the tool tells you how many it deleted.
When to use it
- Double-sided scanning — documents with empty backs leave a blank page after every printed one.
- Files combined from several sources — empty separator pages or extra pages at the end of chapters.
- Files exported from Word or Excel — sometimes a stray empty page ends up at the end.
How the tool decides a page is "blank"
Each page is rendered as a small image on your device, and the tool measures what share of it contains ink. Pages with less ink than the threshold count as blank.
- Normal mode — a page with less than about 0.2% ink counts as blank. This suits scans where empty pages pick up dust or faint marks.
- Strict mode — only pages with almost no ink at all (less than about 0.04%) are removed. It is the safer choice for important documents.
When it finishes, the tool reports how many pages were removed. If it finds no blank pages, it tells you and doesn't create a new file. The remaining pages are not converted to images, so their text is still searchable.
Things to watch out for
- In normal mode, a page with nothing but a small page number or the words "This page intentionally left blank" may also be counted as blank. If you don't want to risk it, choose strict mode.
- Always open and check the result before sending it. Your original file is untouched, so if too much was removed you can simply run it again.

Will pages with faint marks be deleted?
Normal mode allows for faint scanning marks. If you only want completely empty pages removed, use strict mode.
How many pages can it check?
There is no limit. Every page is checked automatically.

Will pages with only a faint watermark or a header be removed?
It depends on the amount of ink. Headers and logos usually have more ink than the threshold and are kept, but a very faint watermark may be counted as blank. Always check the result before sending it.

Yes. Pages are checked one at a time on your device, so longer files take longer, and older phones may be slower than a computer.
