Delete pages or extract pages?
Both leave you with only the pages you want, but suit different situations:
- Dropping 2–3 pages from a 30-page document — use this tool; clicking a few pages beats selecting 27.
- Keeping only 2–3 pages of 30 — use Split PDF to extract them.

Picking pages without mistakes
- Printed page numbers are not file positions — in a document with a cover, contents, or preface, the page printed "1" may be page 4 of the file. Go by the thumbnails, not the printed numbers.
- Near-identical pages — enlarge the thumbnail to check the name or date before ticking.
- Selected too many? — clear the whole selection and start again.
- Check the preview before downloading — if the wrong page went, go back and reselect.

- Online submissions — many portals limit file size and page count, so drop irrelevant pages first.
- Blank or bad pages from scanning — empty backs of double-sided scans or pages that fed twice.
- Contracts without unrelated appendices — keep just the main agreement and the signature page.
- Other people's data in a combined file — keep only your own payslip or certificate before sending.
What to know before deleting
- Deleting pages is not redaction — if sensitive information sits on a page you keep, removing other pages doesn't help. Use the redaction tool, which removes the text from the file rather than just drawing a black box over it.
- Printed page numbers don't renumber — delete page 5 and page 6 still says 6. To renumber, run the page-numbering tool afterwards.
- Bookmarks are not carried over, and internal links to deleted pages stop working.
- File size doesn't shrink in proportion — removing 10 of 100 pages may barely change it if the remaining pages hold the images.
Why deleting pages in the browser is safer
Files people trim are often personal — ID copies, payslips, contracts — and the point is usually to stop some pages reaching others, so uploading the whole file to someone else's server defeats the purpose. This tool selects pages one by one from the previews. For long ranges, Split PDF is faster: type the range of pages you want to keep.
Does deleting pages make the file smaller?
It depends on what was on the deleted pages, not how many. Removing text-only pages barely changes the size; compress afterwards if needed.
Can I delete pages from a password-protected PDF?
Yes. Files with only permission restrictions open straight away. For files that need a password to open, you'll be asked for it when you select the file (you must know it), then you can delete pages as usual. Only use this on files you own or are authorized to edit.
